| 21. Januar 2010Auch wenn ich zu alt für diesen Kram werde, es ist doch schön zu sehen, wie die Szene weiterlebt, wenn auch ein klein wenig anders als vor 15 Jahren.
Ich mache mal etwas, was es eher selten hier bei mir gibt. Zitieren :-)
Speaking in Code ist eine Dokumentation im Bereich der elektronischen Tanzmusik.
Die Dokumentation entstand unter der Regie der aus San Francisco stammenden Amy Grill und ihrem Ehemann DJ David Day. Er wurde in 11 verschiedenen Städten und 5 Staaten gedreht.[1]
Der Film versucht, die Welt der elektronischen Musik zu durchleuchten. Zu sehen sind unter anderem Interviews mit Techno-Produzenten und Djs wie Ellen Allien, Akufen, Tobias Thomas, Wighnomy Brothers und Sascha Funke. Der Soundtrack wurde unter anderem von Modeselektor, The Field, Gui Boratto und Superpitcher produziert.
Die Premiere von “Speaking in Code” fand am 23.April.2009 auf dem Boston Film Festival statt. Daneben hat das Goethe-Institut in China gemeinsam mit “Intro 2009″ und dem Kölner C/D POP Musikfestival den Film in China uraufgeführt. Demnächst soll die Doku als DVD erscheinen.

Speaking in Code is a character-based documentary directed by Amy Grill about people who are lost in the electronic music lifestyle.
Shot in 11 cities and 5[1] countries, Speaking In Code provides a glimpse into the techno world through the eyes of Modeselektor, a rambunctious electronic music duo, the Wighnomy Brothers, two vodka guzzling east Germans, Philip Sherburne, a journalist and techno evangelist, Monolake, an idiosyncratic producer and music genius, and David Day, the director’s husband and a techno jack-of-all-trades. The film documents these character’s successes and failures over a three year period including Amy and David’s struggles to complete the film.
Speaking in Code premiered at the Independent Film Festival, Boston on April 23rd, 2009.
